One of the many challenges Father Dennis has undertaken after becoming the parish priest at Saint Nikola was to establish a religious education program. He wanted a forum in which he could educate the adult parishioners but even more so, the teens and young adults in the congregation. Of great concern was establishing a solid religious foundation in the Orthodox faith before our young people went away to college or started their adult lives in the workforce. Thus, Friday night religious education classes were formed.

The first three Fridays of the months are reserved for teens and young adults. The older children, which comprise Groups 3 and 4 of the Moravac Folklore Group, are encouraged and expected to attend these classes, which are conveniently scheduled around their dance practice times. Teen religious education is held from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in the church. A loosely structured theme is taught every Friday, but participants are encouraged to ask questions about any religious topics they wish!

The last Friday of the month is reserved for adults. To assure that all those interested are accommodated, classes are held in Serbian from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and in English from 7:30 to 8:30 pm in the church. Monthly topics are announced in advance in church bulletins circulated after Divine Liturgy at every Sunday service and can also be viewed at Like the teen program, questions are encouraged. We hope to see you there!
